You'll also need a current RN license in our state. Basic life support training should be completed in 90 days with advanced training required at certain intervals. Responsibilities: Responsibilities PATIENT CARE: Renders direct and indirect quality patient care to all age groups Uses the nursing process to identify short and long term goals for the patient and documents in the Care Plan. DOCUMENTATION: Demonstrates compliance with the standards of nursing documentation. Documents the administration of medications. EDUCATION: Assists with the implementation of educational programs for patient, family, students and staff. CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT: Demonstrates commitment to quality patient care. COMMUNICATION: Maintains effective communication through appropriate utilization of the chain of communication. PLANNING/PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT: Establishes and practices effective team building. Insures items used are properly charged and removes and/or returns discontinued equipment. PROFESSIONALISM/PERSONAL GROWTH: Participates in programs and projects directed toward own growth and development. ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY: Maintains a clean, safe environment by following established guidelines. UNIT MANAGEMENT: Provides leadership to appropriate staff. Demonstrates the ability to assess all body systems and functional health patterns with special focus on the cardiovascular system and the patient who undergoes invasive cardiovascular procedures. Qualifications: Qualifications Education: Graduation from an approved school of nursing. Licensure: Current licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. Experience: Entry level. Certifications: CPR Other: To ensure patient safety it is mandatory that all licensed co-workers who provide direct patient care pass a medication and math competency test before assuming medication administration responsibilities. This exam will cover knowledge of the actions and side effects of commonly used drugs along with math regarding correct dosages and IV problems. The passing grade on this exam is 90% and it may be repeated one time. Failure to pass the retake may result in termination of employment.
